Riding A Wave Of Success: The 24th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic Gets A New Director, More PossAbilities, And More Exciting Changes To Come.  April 3-6, 2008

Redlands, California- The 24th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic (RBC) will be riding a wave of success following a revitalized 2007 edition of the race that included four exciting days of world class professional racing action highlighted by the inclusion of some of the world’s best hand cyclists.

The 24th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic will continue its successful four day format under the guidance of new race Director Dan Rendler, who comes to this position with five years experience with the all-volunteer committee that organizes the RBC each year.

“I am very excited to be leading the charge for the 24th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic and look forward to a successful four days of racing come April,” said Dan Rendler, race director for the 24th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic.

This year’s event promises four days of racing action starting on April 3rd with a time trial in Redlands and finishing April 6th with the infamous Sunset Road Race in Redlands.

Along with a new stage, this years Redlands Bicycle Classic will feature a 2008 recipient of the now coveted “Legends” Award given by the Redlands Bicycle Classic Committee, a full day of public races and activities, a School Duel for local school aged racers, a new and improved “Green” festival focused on environmental awareness, and last but certainly not least, a larger presence from PossAbilities and its contingent of handcyclists who will kick-off the season opener of the U.S. Handcycling Series at the RBC.

About the Redlands Bicycle Classic

The Redlands Bicycle Classic is an all-volunteer organization, including the board of directors.  The 24th annual Redlands Bicycle Classic is scheduled for April 3-6, 2008.  The event was founded in 1985 by a community group chaired by the-Mayor Carole Beswick to promote awareness of downtown Redlands.  Since that time, professional cyclists from around the world have been racing in this event centered around the city of Redlands, California.  The Redlands Bicycle Classic is on the United States Cycling Federation (USCF) National Racing calendar (NRC).
